This year’s July 4th American Independence Day celebration
in Frogner Park was a great success. We hope you were one of the over 20,000 people
who enjoyed the full day of activities and entertainment. The
ACCN (American Coordinating Council of Norway) is the organization that has been
responsible for arranging this event for the last 14 years. We are now going through
a transformation because the July 4th event has grown so large. In order for the
event to continue, we need to: -
Find
New Committed Volunteers, -
Have Active Members, and
-
Tap New Resources – especially in the area of corporate
volunteer participation. Put simply,
the ACCN is “product rich and people poor.” As the name
implies, the ACCN is intended to act as a coordinating forum for American organizations—in
order to fulfill the needs that individual organizations cannot do themselves.
It is clear that we must renew our purpose. We know we have untapped resources
and would like to make a better effort at creating synergy among us. How
can we best do this? By getting input and guidance from our most valued resource—YOU!
An email version of our survey is being sent around (via the AWC representative
to the ACCN, Katharyn) and your comments are very much appreciated! P.S.
- ANYONE interested in joining in the "re-invention" of the ACCN is
heartily welcome. We are one of the largest member organizations and have only
one rep. Thanks! |
