Tales from a Small Planet is a free web magazine offering travel writing and humor from the unique perspective of those who live and work in foreign lands. It is designed for "anyone who has a lively curiosity about the world and an offbeat sense of humor," says Editor in chief Francesca Kelly. The magazine’s unique mixture of travel narratives, fiction, poetry and satire sets it apart from ordinary travel magazines. Tales from a Small Planet has an entertaining quality often lacking in web sites geared to travelers and expatriates.

Outpost is an independent network of information centers around the world, created to provide practical information to Shell expatriates and their families. This site contains an extensive listing of worldwide resources, including those on the World Wide Web, for expatriates from the pre-departure stage to settling in.

The Expatriate Handbook is a great reference both before and after you make your overseas move and include insightful exercises to complete. There is a hardcopy of the book in the AWC Library.
From the preface to the handbook:

"The purpose of this book is to help you help yourself in the process of deciding whether to accept and then prepare for an overseas assignment. My method is primarily Socratic. I will not provide many sources or answers (because they change, get out of date, and are not the same for everyone). Rather, I want to help you prepare and educate yourself for this assignment by having you ask the right questions-in case you didn't know them to begin with."
