New comers to Norway can now turn to a new web site for information on local
customs, culture, the local language and how Norwegian society works. This new
site offers information in 12 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic,
Serbian, Kurdish, Albanian, Somalian, Persian, Russian, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese.
Information is available on how the government works, integration policies, the
local health care system, Norwegian language, news sources from all over the world,
local libraries, housing and employment. The web site is a cooperative effort
! of several agencies spearheaded by the Deichman Library in Oslo. Norwegian
music Every flavor is presented by the English online newsletter of Music
Information Center Norway, which is updated weekly with some of the latest from
the Norwegian music scenes. The Museum Guide from Museumnet Norway presents
an overview of Norwegian museums, with information in English on each museum.
Searchable and browsable by location, name and theme. Also available in German,French

Technical Museum A fun place to takes kids of all ages on a rainy afternoon.

Folk Museum Located on Bygdøy, this is a great place to take kids - lots
of space to run, jump, and climb. It's an outdoor museum of old (some very old!)
buildings from all over Norway which were meticulously taken down and then reconstructed
on Bygdøy. The English pages aren't as extensive as the pages in Norwegian, but
give the pertinent information. Just click on the GB button at the top of the
