The AWC needs a new hostess coordinator for next year. The hostess coordinator makes our meetings nice to attend. She finds a couple of volunteers to help set up Hansen Hall and make and serve drinks - there's plenty of room for creativity with both beverages and decorations! Though there is some work with this position, it is a lot of fun. Meetings are free for the coordinator and its a great opportunity to meet new people! Interested? Rafael Vaillant enjoyed presenting at the May meeting. To avoid any confusion, he wants to make clear that US citizens who have accounts in the US do not have to worry about those accounts being reported to the Norwegian government. "It's only Norwegian's US accounts that may be notifiable to the Norwegians," he says. Whether you were at the meeting or not, if you have questions about US tax matters, feel free to contact Rafael at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Have you ever seen the television show, House Hunters or House Hunters International? As described on the HGTV networks' website:
House Hunters takes viewers behind the scenes as individuals, couples and families learn what to look for and decide whether or not a home is meant for them. Focusing on the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home, each episode shows the process as buyers search for a home.
One of the producers of House Hunters International has reached out to the AWC to see if any of our members are interested in being on the show. You do not need to be married or have children to participate if you are interested, but you should have moved abroad in the last 10 months or so. They are looking for renters and buyers.

At the March meeting, AWC Oslo will be voting on which grant applicants we recommend that FAWCO provides funding to. Each member should familiarize herself with the various nominees before coming to the March meeting, as only a brief overview will be provided before ballots are cast. Voting will take place at the beginning of the meeting and the winner will be announced at the end of the meeting. Our FAWCO representative, Kristin Haanæs, will then cast our club's vote with FAWCO.
In the attachment below, the various categories and nominees are detailed, including the organizations' websites, when applicable.
