Season Opening Concert of Ny Musikk (New Music) promotes contemporary music in Norway and opens with concerts, a barbecue and performance art in the backyard at Platous gate 18 on Friday, September 2 from 7 pm. Admission. www.nymusikk.no

HMS Bounty Known for the storied mutiny that took place in Tahiti in 1789 on board the British transport vessel, the current Bounty, a replica, has survived to tell the tale and will be docked in Oslo. The ship will be docked through Sunday evening 4 September. During her stay she will be open for tours on from 11am – 6pm 2-4 September. Admission children 40 kr, adults 80 kr. Nordmarkstravern cross-country run is an annual 30-kilometre forest run from Stryken to Sognsvann through some of the most beautiful parts of the Nordmarka forest. Melody Grand Prix Junior The Norwegian children's version of the Eurovision song contest, where the best entries go on to represent Norway in the Nordic finals. Arctic Experts– The seal people and their meeting with Amundsen is a fascinating exhibition about the meeting between Amundsen and the seal people on King William Island in 1903. After Amundsen’s return, a unique collection of 900 objects from his stay in "the finest little harbor in the world", was donated to the University of Oslo. Ötzi - The Iceman from the Alps is one of the world's best-known mummies, and is now on display at the Historical Museum in Oslo. The exhibition also tries to explain how the climate has changed over the past 5.000 years. The Collective Memory of a Nation The exhibition is based on the result of an open internet vote, where the voters were given choices among radio/TV, music, film, books as well as hand-written manuscripts. The exhibition Munch's Laboratory. The Path to the Aula is the Munch Museum's contribution to the University of Oslo's 200th anniversary celebrations. Today it is difficult to understand how radical and controversial these paintings were at the time and the important role they played in the Norwegian cultural politics between 1909 and 1916. Designers Saturday: Public Sunday is Norway's cutting edge industry fair. The event takes place in 38 showrooms and exhibitions across the city, where more than 170 Norwegian and international brands are displaying the latest of furniture, textiles, lamps, floors and kitchen interiors. Saturday is an industry-only event, but on Sunday 4 September the fair opens to the public from 11 – 4 pm. Visitors are transported by coaches on fixed routes between 18 stops. GAA Team Formed in Norway
Gaelic Football is a form of football mainly played in Ireland. It is, together with hurling, one of the two most popular spectator sports in Ireland.
Gaelic football and Hurling teams are already strongly established in Europe, and now Norway has its very own.
Oslo GAA was established late 2009. Our aim is to educate, promote and play the various GAA games of Ireland here in Norway.
Football and Hurling players of any ability are welcome to join.

Kon-Tiki Oscar 1951-2011 This year marks the 60th anniversary of Thor Heyerdahl's Oscar win for his documentary about the Kon-Tiki expedition. This expedition shows how the award made Heyerdahl an international celebrity and how the film popularized the Tiki culture, a new pop culture with music, restaurants and fashion. A new big-budget movie about Kon-Tiki is on the way, and the exhibition will follow the making of film through updated photos and film clips.
