When the wind is howling and it is already dark at 5 PM, what better way to brighten your evening than joining your fellow AWC members at Hanson Hall? We are bringing back the Heart Pillow Project and we need all the hands we can get. Even though this evening will be a sewing bee, you needn’t worry if your sewing skills aren’t up to par. Actually, you don’t need skills at all!
We are making heart shaped pillows to donate to women who have undergone a mastectomy. The pillow is designed and shaped to support the armpit to ease pain as well as reduce lymph swelling under the arm. We donate our pillows to Aker Hospital, every pillow neatly wrapped in cellophane. So, if you can spare an evening to either cut, sew, glue or wrap, we and the women who receive these pillows, will be grateful.
We are following FHI’s standards to make sure that you will feel safe and relaxed attending this meeting. We ask that everybody who plans to attend the meeting register, even gold members.
Betsy will serve us snacks, something that won’t make too much of a mess for our busy bees. There will be a raffle and the library will be open, as usual.
