Things to Do in Oslo for Children

If you have children under 18, Oslo can be tricky. Generally, there are not a lot of places tailored to families or children's entertainment outside of parks, which are covered in snow half the year. Things are changing, however, and more and more places geared toward children are opening.  If you know of a place we haven't listed, please let us know!

Oslo for Children
Search activities and attractions for children in the Oslo area. Also includes an events calendar listing of upcoming events. Maintained by the Oslo tourism board.

It is a journey into a chocolate world, here you mold your own chocolate and watch how chocolate is made. (website is in Norwegian)

Leo's Lekeland
A giant indoor jungle gym beyond your wildest imagination, it's a great place for your kids to burn off a lot of energy. Also open on weekends.

Child Planet
Another indoor children's play land. Also open on weekends.

Baby Kroken
Children's areas at Sandvika Storsenter, the large mall in Sandvika.

Oslo Children's Museum Foundation
This group is seeking to construct a children's museum in Oslo. In the meantime, they participate in various events around the city providing fun learning experiences for children.

Litteraturhuset Children's Floor and Room

Moms & Tots Group
Our own American Women's Club of Oslo's Moms and Tots group is a group for our members with small children. The group meets monthly, sometimes more or less, at child-friendly locations around the city. Dates and times are determined by the group's availability, either during the week or on weekends.

International Mother and Baby Group in Oslo
This Facebook group is a way to connect with parents in the greater Oslo area that have either recently moved to Oslo or have been here long enough to be a guiding light to those new to the scene. The private group has been set up as an open forum for members to ask or give advice on parenting, living and settling in Oslo, healthcare, the school system, etc. The group has regular meetups around the city and can provide tips on the areas most child-friendly cafes, local kids activities, etc.
